I like to paint slick UI's
with modern tech.

Portfolio
I've found that the best way to learn how to code is to just go for it. I have learned a whole lot both on and off the job, but I'm always learning something new regardless.
Wordpress
Javascript
Experience
I've been dabbling with web technologies for about 6 years and I landed a job about 5 years ago. I was fortunate enough to start my coding journey in a real workspace getting hands on experience under an extremely skilled mentor. Now, I control my own destiny.
May 2022 - Present
Tech Used: Laravel PHP AWS Gutenberg jQuery Alpine JS Tailwind.css
Summary: During my time at Prep Network I've gotten a lot more experience with OOP through building and maintaining our WP Multisite that handles a massive database, and our Laravel Application that handles our events side of the business. Some examples of work I routinely do are building custom WP CLI commands, building and maintaining custom WP plugins, working with discourse forums and integration, WordPress VIP Hosting, lots of Tailwind css and ui, lots of PHP OOP, Circle CI Integration, Testim testing integration, Amazon AWS Redshift API integration, and much more!
February 2022 to May 2022
Tech Used: Airtable Laravel PHP
Summary: I joined Color-Red in hopes of combining my passion for music with my passion for coding. During the time I've spent at Color-Red, I've helped them clean up and automate a lot of their data collection processes within Airtable, creating less room for manual data manipulation and potential human error. After these processes are cleaned up to the best point possible, we will build an application that will make all these processes, and much more, function and perform smoothly with an interface that is fast and efficient. This project is being mapped and planned out at the moment, and when it's ready I will dig in!
February 2021 to July 2021
Tech Used: React Node TypeScript TypeORM Apollo PostgresQL
Summary: As a contracted member of the Kin and Carta team of 8 developers, 4 designers, 4 QA professionals and 3 team leads developing an app for a donor advised funds non-profit called The Signatry, I was thrown into a huge lift of a project as far as work demanded and tech used. I went in with barely any React experience, and absolutely zero experience with TypeScript, GraphQL, SQL, TypeORM, Apollo and Node.js. Six months later I walked out feeling confident with the experience I gained using each of these technologies as well as the principles of programming. I was thrown into the fire as they say, and it was the best possible learning experience working with and learning from extremely skilled, patient and kind professionals at every level. I'm forever grateful for such an incredible learning opportunity.
September 2020 to February 2021
Tech Used: Wordpress PHP AWS CI/CD
Summary: After taking over as project lead for Pie Insurance, I had inherited a mess of a management situation with an old, improperly managed WordPress site. I turned it around, and ended up delivering a final product that is easier to manage from both a developer's and content managers perspective. I have also learned how to communicate directly, properly and efficiently with the client and fulfill the product need.
September 2019 to September 2020
Tech Used: Wordpress Laravel Sage 9
Summary: When I got hired on at Spire I quickly learned what it means to be a part of a big efficient team with lots of moving parts. Learning to use popular management methods like Jira, Confluence, AWS and CI/CD Pipelines, I found it fun to be an integral part of a professional process. My responsibilities thus far have been acting as the lead developer in managing and maintaining the various workings of a major Wordpress site belonging to Pie Insurance, as well as developing a Wordpress site using Sage 9 and Laravel for PCI In Focus for their early 2020 Conference.
September 2018 to May 2019
Tech Used: Wordpress Laravel Sage 8/9
Summary: After the Senior Dev decided to leave the firm, I was promoted to Lead Dev for the company and proceeded to hold down the fort myself. I was solely responsible for all management of all the websites, and making all the Dev related decisions moving forward. My responsibilities included, but were not limited to actively maintaining over 14 sites and fixing any issues/breakage whatsoever with these sites, overseeing the creation of a site from initial coding to taking it live, and anything else that might pop up on a daily basis. I have honed in skills like moving old battered sites from host to host manually, debugging malware and solving programming compatibility issues with plugins.
May 2017 to September 2018
Tech Used: Wordpress Laravel Sage 8/9
Summary: Starting my coding career here has been nothing short of huge blessing for me. Working with the small team of badass designers and an even more badass developers to build custom themes and sweet sites was a huge leg for a up for a newbie like me, at the time. I quickly became familiar with WP file structure, custom post types, Sage 8/9 frameworks, php, sass, cli tools, node package manager, git, responsive development, bootstrap, webpack, ftp, mimicing design from sketch, illustrator and photoshop, and many other incredibly valuable skills in the coding workplace.
Skills
The coding skills I've learned have been through numerous online courses and free resources, but mostly hands on experience through on the job training. In coding there is always a new and unique problem to solve, and thus, never a dull moment.

Education
Although my educational path has taken many directions in my life, I can never stop learning. Whether it's learning financial portfolio managment, learning a new programming language, or learning a new technique on an unfamiliar musical instrument, I am always striving to learn more and to be better at everything I do.
University of Northern Colorado
Greeley, CO
Fall of 2009 to Fall of 2013
Certification: Bachelors in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Finance and a Minor in Music
Summary: I started out at the Monfort College of Business as a Management emphasis. I thought the classes in management were pointless, and that good managers are good because they have gotten that experience in the real world. I was always good with numbers and I was naturally performing well in my finance classes, so I switched my major and graduated near the top of my class. I was tested, interviewed and accepted into the Student and Foundation Fund which actively managed -at the time- over $1.2 million of real money in the stock market. I also competed in the CFA Research Challenge held between six top finance schools in the state, and I was a manager of the very first Socially Resposible Investment Fund at the School.
ISM University of Mangement and Economics
Vilnius, Lithuania
January 2013 to June 2013
Certification: Study Abroad - Credit Towards my Bachelors Degree
Summary: My time in Vilnius undoubtedly changed my life. A last minute decision to study abroad in a part of the world I couldn't even point out on a map initially, lead to an enormously more valuable learning and development experience than anything I could have imagined. It gave me perspective, confidence and gratitude. I learned how to immerse myself in the unknown and find my own way, to socialize in a sometimes uncomfortable setting, and make life-long friendships that I cherish to this day. Living in Vilnius taught me how valuable it can be leave your comfort zone and explore the unknown, and to embrace that rather than be afraid of it. I also helped the school start their own student ran investment fund class, much like what I was involved with back home.
D'Evelyn Jr./Sr. High School
Lakewood, CO
August 2003 to May 2009
Certification: High School Diploma
Summary: D'Evelyn is a great college prep school that taught me how to study and prepare for a future career. I am still very good friends with just about every friend I made there, and I think that has been the most valuable take-away. I was a member of student counsel, jazz band, concert choir, cross country team, ultimate frisbee team, the performing arts and all-state choir while I was enrolled.
